Take a thoughtful pause, and BREATHE

When life gets busy, we can find ourselves rushing from one place to the next, from one thing to the next.

I for one am very guilty of this - I've got to get this thing done, and that thing done, and I've got to walk the dog, and the dog has to be busy on that walk else he won't settle, and, and, and....

Does this is sound like you too?
Let me share with you what works for me.

Because our brains weren't made to be this busy. All this business leads to stress and anxiety for all of us, humans and dogs alike.

If the only experience our dogs have of the outside world is a busy one, then they'll NEVER be able to stop, slow down, and process.

And that means that the scary outside world will carry on being a scary one.

So here's the thing. If we can slow ourselves down, take time to stop, rest, watch and listen; if we can take time to breathe out anxiety and breathe in calm, then our dogs will be able to do the same.

So next time you take your dog for a walk, go somewhere quiet, sit down, and take a thoughtful pause.

Your brain will thank you, and your dog's brain will thank you.
