Find the Joy

When we have shouty-barky dogs we can get so caught up in the fixing, the managing, the apologising, that there’s no room for anything else.

If it was just the dog that we had to cope with then it might not be so bad... but it isn’t, is it?

We have jobs to hold down, families and relationships to keep together, homes to run.

It’s no wonder that our own stress levels are high!

It feels like it’s impossible to take time out for ourselves, because there’s always someone or something else that needs attention.

Well, that has to change.

And here’s how.

Find two minutes, just two minutes, where you can be uninterrupted, and then…

Step One
1. Close your eyes and remember the last time you were truly joyful. Spine-tingling, shout it from the rooftops joyful.

2. What was your bodily reaction at that time?

3. How did you move?

4. Think about the moment and recreate the movement. Not that situation, but the way you moved when feeling that absolute joy.

You might want to open your eyes for that last bit!

Step Two

Take just two minutes every day to recreate that feeling of absolute joy. Move your body, put some music on, maybe go outside. Make those two minutes all about you and no one else.
